Jessie Mahoney, MD
Dr. Jessie Mahoney is a pediatrician, a certified life coach, and a yoga and mindfulness instructor. As a practicing pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente for over 18 years, Dr. Mahoney has been a leader in the physician wellness movement her entire career. She is a frequent public speaker and workshop facilitator. She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UCSF, Chair of the SF Marin Medical Society Task Force on Physician Wellness, and former Chair of the California Medical Association Subcommittee on Physician Wellness. She has been married to her husband for more than 26 years and is the mother of 3 teenage/young adult sons.
Dr. Mahoney believes that mindfulness and coaching are a key component to changing the culture of healthcare, improving health patients and caregivers, and to improving our healthcare system. Her passion is utilizing coaching and mindfulness to help her colleagues be the best healers and humans they can be.
As a coach, Dr. Mahoney supports and inspires physicians and others in healthcare who are successful on the surface yet struggle underneath. Through coaching she guides them to see possibilities and create healthier and more meaningful lives. She helps lessen struggles around career dissatisfaction and burnout, relationship challenges, parenting, life transitions, and emotional and physical clutter. As a yoga instructor, Dr. Mahoney teaches mindful yoga as a form of healing and self compassion at Ocean Beach Yoga SF as well as at retreats and conferences around the world.
